Analysis - BROKE - Dustin

Dustin's rebellious nature gets him into trouble. But deep down, he wishes people would tell him what to do.

Personality:
Aries / Fortune
Neat: 3
Active: 4
Outgoing: 6
Nice: 6
Playful: 6
Below average neat, average active, slight extrovert, above average nice, above average playful.

Dustin is a fairly sweet, playful outgoing person who cares more about people than being neat. As a fortune sim he's less into collecting fortune for the sake of it, and more for what he can do with it.

Fatness = 3 so will tend to overweight if he doesn't move around.

Interests and Hobbies:
Hobby: Nature.
Preferred Interests: Crime, Environment, Animals, Politics.
No Interest in: Culture, Fashion, School or Work.
Skills: Creativity - 1

Relationships:

Female/Male Preference = 10/-10
This implies that Dustin has had a male/male romantic interaction that resulted in a rejection from either Dustin, or the other sim.

He has family relationships with Brandi (20/20), Skip (20/20) and Beau (45/25).
Flat Broke (20/20), Flo Broke (20/20), Betty Newbie (20/20), Bob Newbie (20/20)

He has other relationships with
 Angela Pleasant (75/75)
Daniel Pleasant (-50/-50) He is enemies with Daniel.
 Lilith Pleasant (5/5)
 Gordon King (67/10)

Other Information:

  • Skip Broke was involved with him in the Toddler stage, but had an average relationship with him when he died.
  • Lost a fight with Gordon King.
  • In Criminal Career - level 1.
  • He has 11/14 days left in Teen Stage - so still an early teen.
  • He wants to teach Beau to talk.
  • He wants to kiss Angela but fears she will reject him.
  • He's scared of what will happen if he gets a D on his report card
  • He wants to earn some money.
  • One of 5 playables that are employed, and the only teen.
  • Dustin is present at Angela's Birthday (Blonde-haired boy in red t-shirt)
 Analysis:

1. Given what is in Dustin's data, Daniel Pleasant may be an enemy for any of the following reasons:
  • Daniel made a pass at Dustin, given that he is an early teen - this would have been abuse.
  • Daniel killed Skip, and Dustin knows but is unable to bring him to justice.
  • Daniel and Dustin hate each other because he thinks that Dustin is not good enough for Angela.
  • Daniel knows that Dustin is a criminal, which results in the above.
  • Dustin knows that Daniel is cheating on Mary-Sue resulting in unhappiness in the family, and hates him as a consequence. This would require Angela to know and have told him as he has no contact with Kaylynn. That is, he would not have seen it for himself.
 2. What was the fight with Gordon King about? And why are they friends now? Given that Gordon is Dustin's boss, is their friendship a manipulative one by Gordon with power play  at its base?
If so will  Gordon  let  Dustin  just  quit  without repercussions? How interested is Dustin in being  a criminal really?

3. Dustin and Angela's relationship - is it solid? Or is it based on something else? Dustin and Angela have known each other from early childhood (after Angela phased to child, but before Lilith did). Angela's memories have them becoming best friends in childhood, but Dustin's have them becoming friends as teens after Beau was born. Dustin and Angela didn't start dating until after the fight with Gordon King. Beau has been alive 2/3 days of the toddler stage (Normally there are 4 days as toddler, but Beau only has 3 with 1 day left at Pleasantview start). Given that there are 3 days as a baby, and Dustin has been a teen for 3 days - Dustin and Angela have either started dating on the same day as the fight, or they have only been dating for a day or 2 at most.

Dustin is a fortune sim, but has  a people-pleasing personality - so it is unlikely that he is attracted to Angela for her money. He may be envious of her fortune. It also may be that Dustin is working as a criminal to support his family now that his mother can't work and his father is dead. So his wants and fears around money are about family-related fears.

Note: In my head-canon Angela is the "Golden Child" and the over-function-er in her family trying to repair the family dynamics by being as good as possible. As a consequence to balance the terminal goodness in her life, she is attracted to the bad-boy which gives her an outlet for her darker side and lets her be herself. So Angela's attraction is based on Dustin's bad-boy reputation. As a consequence the pressures on their relationship will be based around change - if Angela no longer needs to be the Golden Child, or Dustin no longer is a criminal - their relationship dynamics will change and the relationship will either fail, or become more solid as they become more authentic to each other.
